Our 18 Degree heads can make serious horsepower—power ideal for high rpm circle track or
Super-class drag racing. Dyno testing proves it—a 406 cubic inch, 12:1 compression small block
with out of the box 18 Degree heads produced 703 peak HP at 7,500 rpm and 539 ft.-lbs. peak
torque at 6,000 rpm.
Our 18 Degree cylinder heads provide high airflow numbers—325 cfm intake/235 cfm exhaust—right
out of the box. The heads feature 56cc combustion chambers, 250cc raised intake and 100cc
exhaust runners, ductile iron intake and hard bronze exhaust valve seats, and manganese bronze
valve guides.
The 18 Degree heads accept most current 18 degree intake manifolds (including the new two-piece
manifolds), headers, and other components. They do require the use of offset shaft mount rocker
arms and a mechanical roller camshaft with offset intake lifters.
The bare castings are machined for 2.150 in. intake and 1.625 in. exhaust valves
(and can accept intake valves up to 2.20 in.) and 1.550 in. valve springs.
Assembled heads are also available, featuring 2.15 in. intake/1.60 in. exhaust stainless steel
valves, 1.56 in. dual valve springs, and 10 degree retainers and locks.
